"No Mountain High Enough" Raising Lance, Raising Me

I just read the book "No Mountain High Enough" by Linda Armstrong Kelly and enjoyed it from beginning to the end. Linda Armstrong Kelly is the mother of Lance Armstrong. She was only 17 years old when Lance was born and she showed Lance never to give up on your passion. She lived her life with passion and never told Lance that he couldn't do something if he truly wanted to do it. Linda had many down moments in her life but she never gave up. She was a hard worker in her endeavors with the job market and pushed herself to the highest level without regrets. So, by living this kind of life she showed Lance that hard work gave you the satisfaction of being on top.

Thanksgiving

We're closed for Thanksgiving, but our website is open even on holidays!
Regular hours resume Friday at 9:00 a.m.

Remember you can renew your items online.

Need last minute turkey tips? We've got some on our website!

Need info to share with the kids on the history, traditions and some crafts?

Afer turkey, comes shopping! Trying to shop online? Have you tried the search engine Froogle? It's from Google, but it only searches web sites where you can buy things, great for comparison shopping!

If you're doing any shopping at Amazon, start at this search box and a percentage of the income goes to the Library budget to buy more materials for the collection. Indeed, any book, book on tape, book on CD, CD, DVD, or videotape bought from Amazon.com through this site will benefit the Library, so, if you are using Amazon.com, why not help the Lansing Public Library at the same time and at no extra cost?
Thanks
-and-Giving at the same time!

Lansing Public Library to accept payments via Internet

Lansing Public Library, has announced participation in an Internet payment service that will be available to the community.

Lansing Public Library has partnered with the office of Illinois State Treasurer Judy Baar Topinka to offer a new service called E-Pay. The E-Pay program was launched by Topinka’s office in 2000 under a state master services agreement that is available for all counties and local governments in Illinois to participate in.

“We are pleased to help move the library into the 21st century.” Assistant Library Director Patricia Higgins said, “Our E-Pay electronic payment service will provide greater convenience to the community and increase the services offered by the library.”

The library’s E-Pay service has started with fee payment and donations to Friends of Lansing Public Library. E-Pay will allow you to make your payments over the Internet with cardholders of MasterCard, American Express and Discover card brands. A transaction, or user fee, is added to the payment amount for the convenience of the Internet service. The state and local participants who use this program do not receive any revenue from the convenience fee.

Payments are being accepted now and the Library invites patrons to visit the library's web site, http://www.lansing.lib.il.us/ to see how the payment service can work for them!
