Historic Route 66

November 13, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. Community Room ~ Lower Level

Presented by David G. Clark. David tells the story of the highway
in a lively and informative way with music and slides. Learn how the highway was built, why it started in Chicago, and how the building of the Interstate highway system brought on the official demise of Route 66.

Take a " virtual tour" of Route 66 today, down the road that refuses to die to see some of the treasures that still exist on "the highway that's the best."

David has published over two dozen articles about 66 and Chicago. His most recent work includes the books, Exploring Route 66 in Chicagoland and Images of America: Route 66 in Chicago.
