History Source at the library

Lansing Library subscribes to several of the titles from Salem History in an online format. This makes them available 24/7 through the library’s website. This is a terrific source for anyone needing information about history. It is a great starting point for students or anyone needing quick, accurate, and unbiased information about a historic topic.

There are four parts to the series: Decades (covering the Sixties, the Seventies, and the Nineties with more titles to be added in the future), Great Lives, Great Events, and Milestone Documents.

The Milestone documents include documents from American history, African American history, World history, and American leaders. This is the perfect place to find the text of important speeches and writings. There is also analysis of the documents to help the reader understand the significance and importance of the document.

Anyone trying to learn about history should start with this material. Each article links to related materials and points to other resources to expand on the information provided by Salem History. All you need is your library card.
